Downtown Sarasota Comes Together on Foot
May 27, 2025 | Read Time: 4 minutes
Downtown Sarasota makes more sense as a sequence than a checklist. Starting near the bayfront, a single walk can move from open parkland to performance venues, restaurants and the yacht basin without turning each stop into its own trip. That proximity gives One Park Sarasota a location defined as much by what sits between destinations as by the destinations themselves.
Seen from the sidewalk, the neighborhood feels less like a collection of attractions and more like a connected daily route, where waterfront space, culture and dining can overlap within the same few blocks.
The Bay Is the Natural First Stop
Across Boulevard of the Arts, The Bay changes the pace almost immediately. The 53-acre waterfront park gives walkers and runners room to follow the shoreline, while kayak access through the restored mangrove bayou and the resilient shoreline create different ways to spend time along Sarasota Bay without leaving downtown. With a full calendar of festivals, fitness classes, live music, and more, The Bay remains a hub for relaxation and recreation.
Walkable to Sarasota’s Biggest Stages
The Cultural Coast wouldn’t be complete without the performing arts. A 0.2-mile walk takes One Park residents to the Van Wezel for Broadway shows and live performances, or to the Sarasota Orchestra for world-class symphonic concerts. Half a mile east on Boulevard of the Arts, The Players Studio presents intimate local theater productions, while Sarasota Contemporary Dance hosts innovative performances that push artistic boundaries.
A Taste of the World in Downtown Sarasota
Food lovers will find no shortage of globally inspired dining just steps from Downtown Sarasota. Ocean Prime at The Quay, a three-minute walk from One Park, is known for its smoking shellfish towers, fresh seafood, and Wine Spectator-recognized wine list. Also coming to The Quay later this year is 1000 North, a private dining club offering prime steaks, rare wines, and a refined coastal atmosphere.
Within half a mile, residents can explore KOJO’s contemporary Japanese dishes and curated omakase, or savor Sage’s globally influenced cuisine, like duck confit and wagyu tartare, served in a historic space with rooftop views. Nearby, Rose & Ivy pairs European elegance with coastal favorites, from oysters to steak frites, all in a lush garden setting.
Bayfront Strolls and Weekend Boating
For those drawn to the water, The Quay Yacht Basin is just a short walk from One Park. This close connection to Sarasota Bay offers more than just a scenic backdrop for evening strolls. It opens the door to spontaneous boating excursions and weekend adventures on Sarasota Bay, the Gulf, and beyond. Residents enjoy the ease of immersing themselves in the rhythms of bayfront living, where the water is never far from view or reach.
More to Explore a Short Drive Away
Downtown Sarasota’s walkable core is just the beginning. A short drive opens the door to even more experiences. Just over the Ringling Bridge, residents can explore the European-style charm of St. Armands Circle, filled with boutique shops and al fresco dining. The powder-soft, top-rated sands of Lido Key and Siesta Key are also just minutes away. When travel calls, Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport is located just 15 minutes to the north.
The Building Has Caught Up With the Neighborhood
When One Park first reached its foundation-pour milestone, the surrounding neighborhood was easier to experience than the building itself. That has changed. The 18-story tower topped out in March 2026, making its position between The Bay, downtown Sarasota and the waterfront district much more tangible from street level.
Current offerings include fully finished three-bedroom residences from the mid $2 millions, along with separate penthouse and townhome collections. More than 40,000 square feet of amenities are planned across fitness, wellness, pool, entertainment and social spaces, extending the residential experience beyond the individual homes.
Construction has also moved well beyond the structural phase. One Park’s May 2026 update shows window installation progressing through Level 15, with framing, drywall, exterior finishes and mechanical, electrical and plumbing work advancing across the building. Completion is slated for 2027.
The One Park Sales Gallery is located at 20 N Lemon Ave in downtown Sarasota. For current residence information or a private presentation, visit OneParkSarasota.com or call 941-225-4775.
