April 7th is the next Fresh Fridays event, Art In The Park, at Selby Five Points Park. From 7-10 pm, enjoy a night of entertainment and culture, featuring live music and art displays that showcase Sarasota’s best local talent. Taking place on the first Friday of every month, Fresh Fridays allows residents and visitors to enjoy their city in new and dynamic ways. Each month, the event spotlights a new section of Downtown Sarasota with themed parties that celebrate the region’s diverse music, food, and cultural scenes. Previous months have included a tropical-themed party on State Street, an 80s-themed block party, and more.
Downtown Sarasota Ringling Bridge

Just past entry to Golden Gate Point and just before you cross the Ringling Bridge, take the exit to venture under the bridge to Hart’s Landing. Rock the Park every Friday night highlights talented musicians from every genre. Enjoy the waterfront and open-air atmosphere as you listen to rock to jazz or country music. Locals “in the know” bring their lawn chairs or blankets. It’s the perfect place to catch the sunset and watch the boats cruise by on Sarasota Bay. Open every Saturday in Downtown Sarasota, the Sarasota Farmer’s Market is a favored spot to shop for the very best in fresh produce and ingredients. Myakka River State Park Bridge

One of Florida’s oldest and largest parks, Myakka River State Park is a favored destination for any outdoor adventure. Surrounded by arching palm trees and live oaks, the Myakka River flows through 58 square miles, creating a serene atmosphere where bird watching, canoeing, fishing, and wildlife observation are popular activities. The park also includes a 38.9-mile hiking loop, and 12 miles of designated horseback riding trails that wind through shady oaks, sandy pine flatwoods, and dry prairies teeming with wildlife.
